Special skills: Must have demonstrated retail/shopping environment experienceThe Senior Industrial Designer plays a leadership role in the creative execution of various types of design projects and initiatives across brands and across sectors through hands on Industrial Design concepting, prototyping, and working to bring creative product solutions from concept through production. The Senior Industrial Designer collaborates in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team bringing to it a specific expertise in Industrial Design, 3D visualization, prototyping and usability. The Senior Designer coordinates with work flows among internal team members and manages external vendors in order to deliver creative outcomes which provide exceptional consumer and patient experiences. The Senior Designer is responsible for leading the creative execution of multiple projects concurrently and managing and mentoring more junior roles. Primary Responsibilities: Lead design projects from concept generation through implementation, ensuring a high level of design and attention to detail Generate structural design concepts and ideas based on project design briefs and cross functional team inputs and discussions Generate prototypes of design concepts and ideas based on project design briefs and cross functional team inputs and discussions Utilize knowledge of design and cultural trends to guide solutions Advocate, drive, and execute environmentally sustainable design solutions Work closely with Engineering to follow and support projects through from concept stage into production Be an active participant in cross functional project teams Proactively seek out ways to improve design processes Develop and maintain cross functional business partner relationships Demonstrate strong visual, written, and oral, communication/presentation skills Work independently as well as collaborates well in team environments led by a Design Manager or Design Director Manage external vendors, consultants, agencies Manage and mentor more junior roles Manage multiple projects with critical deadlinesQualifications: 3 years minimum design related experience Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design or related field Sketching abilities to communicate design intent Fluency in relevant 3D modeling software (i.e. Solidworks) Fluency in relevant 3D rendering software Understanding of various prototyping methods and ability to create hands on prototypes Understanding of basic manufacturing methods and materials Posses an understanding of environmentally sustainable design practices Proficiency in other relevant design software (i.e. Adobe Suite) Posses a good understanding of the various cross functional collaborative roles including Engineering, Design Project Management, Design Strategy, Design Research, Marketing and R&D Posses strong organizational and time management skills Ability to travel up to 25% domestically with potential for international travel?
