ALM Assessment

Overview
The CMI Configuration Management® Assessment analyzes the processes around your systems and/or software development and controls.  CMI interviews the essential subject matter experts who are in a position to describe existing SDLC practices.  From there we assess the strengths and weaknesses of the current software development process as compared to industry best practices. Some specific focus areas include Source Code Management, Application Lifecycle Management, Build Management, Release Management, and Environment Management. We integrate information we receive both from customer SMEs as well as industry best practices.  These activities culminate in a Findings and Recommendations Report that describes the gaps between the client’s current state and the recommended future state.  In most cases we will give the client multiple improvement suggestions, including the adoption of CMI’s Practice Framework, enabling the client to select which opportunities and trade off decisions best fit their environment. Many customers engage CMI to assist them with the implementation of specific recommendations from the Findings and Recommendations Report.
