Board of Directors

William P. Anderson is Configuration Management, Inc.’s Chairman of the Board and Founder. As an early pioneer of Software Configuration Management®, Mr. Anderson was part of a team of Bell Laboratories engineers that laid the foundations and developed the methodologies for this critical area of software development in the 1970s. He is responsible for CMI’s rich history in continuous delivery of superior quality and cost-efficient services fully supporting our clients. With over 35 years of Configuration Management experience, blending strong managerial skills with visionary technical expertise he has brought much value to the CM industry and the markets we serve. He is well-versed in the economies of scale, process efficiencies and cost savings to drive our client’s programs. Though Mr. Anderson is no longer active in the day-to-day operations of CMI, in his role as Chairman of the Board, he continues to bring entrepreneurial spirit, innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills that guarantee CMI’s success in all industries. Mr. Anderson resides in Florida and has been re-elected as a CMI Board Chairman for 2011.

Zoraida Hernandez is Configuration Management Inc.’s Executive Vice President and Secretary of CMI Companies. Ms. Hernandez is an assertive change agent, motivated by bottom line results, who focuses on service quality and flawless execution. CMI benefits from her deep experience and proven skills in sales and marketing, negotiations, contracts, information systems as well as in corporate strategy. Ms. Hernandez holds a BS degree in Material Engineering from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela. She has been published in the Polymer Bulletin and the Technical Conference of the Society of Plastics Engineers. She resides in Florida and has been reelected to the Board for 2011.

Advisory Board

Jack Cussen has over 50 years of experience in the banking and financial industry beginning with his career in the family business, which was sold to Fidelity Union Trust. He has held management positions at companies that include Greenwich Financial Group, First Fidelity Bank, Summit Bancorporation and Ocean First Bank, specializing in the sale of insurance and investment products. Most recently, Mr. Cussen was a Director for Millennium BCP Bank, which was sold by agreement to Investors Savings Bank. He is currently a Director at Leaders Financial Company. Jack Cussen holds a BA from Colgate University and resides in Essex Fells, NJ. Mr. Cussen became a CMI Advisor in 2010.

Bernard Leone is a partner at the accounting firm of WithumSmith+Brown and the firm’s practice leader of their Business Advisory Services Group as well as the partner in charge of their New York City office. He is a licensed certified public accountant, with over 35 years of experience and has provided companies and their owners with assistance on such matters as strategic and transaction advice, financing, cost control, productivity and profitability improvement, management succession and IPOs. Prior to joining WS+B in 2009, Mr. Leone created his own consulting firm. He also served as managing partner of the New York Office of Tatum, LLC; the largest executive services firm in the country, where he tripled the size of the practice. Mr. Leone spent over 30 years with Ernst & Young where he was a partner and held several leadership roles. Mr. Leone holds a BS degree in accounting from New York University and he attended the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth. He has served on various civic and charitable boards and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). Mr. Leone resides in Bergen County, NJ and became a CMI Advisor in 2010.

Greg J. Marinello has worked for the largest technology companies in the sales and marketing areas for the last 20 plus years. These companies include, Automatic Data Processing, Oracle Corporation, Siebel Systems, Cisco, BMC and SAP. Greg has helped these organizations develop pre-sales teams in configuration of the right solutions and messages to meet and exceed customer expectations while also developing and managing the overall sales strategies. Mr. Marinello has contributed in closing software licenses and services in his career and has also worked in designing joint campaign programs to include creative finance terms in attracting new customers especially during these times. He is a believer in consistent communication with the sales and service delivery teams to ensure the highest level of customer retention and satisfaction. Mr. Marinello lives in Boca Raton, Florida and became a CMI Advisor in 2010.

Dr. William P. Scherer graduated with honors from the University of Miami in 1985 with a BA in Chemistry, received an MS in Biomedical Sciences, and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1989. He completed a surgical residence in Los Angeles and had a private medical practice in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Scherer was an adjunct professor at Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences for 17 years and taught Radiology of the Foot and Ankle and Public Health courses to medical school students. Dr. Scherer started to develop software in 1990, with a program to automate surgical logs for medical residents. Several years later he created a program to assist physicians preparing for board certification examinations. He continued to develop educational test-taking programs and online websites which help K-12 students prepare for Florida and California statewide assessment tests, including apps for iPhone, iPad, and iTouch that are featured on iTunes. Dr. Scherer is the driving force behind the operations of TestTools, Inc. including: product design, working with subject matter experts, content creation, marketing, sales, beta testing, technical assistance, web site design, trade shows, and accounting. He has given hundreds of workshops, lectures, and presentations at major teacher conferences. Dr. Scherer lives in Florida and became a CMI Advisor in 2010.

Chuba N. Udokwu has extensive experience in both business and technical areas and has worked with both start-ups and larger companies. Currently, Mr. Udokwu works with Alcatel-Lucent on Applications Enablement and IMS technologies. Recently, Mr. Udokwu was the Vice President of Worldwide Engineering and Product Operations for Sonus Networks, Inc., a provider of Voice over IP infrastructure solutions. Under his leadership, additional market and revenue growth scenarios for Sonus Networks were created. Mr. Udokwu has held prior senior level positions at Cisco Systems, Alcatel and Bell Laboratories. He holds a MS degree in Operations Research and a BS in Materials Science, both from Columbia University. Mr. Udokwu resides in Massachusetts and became a CMI Advisor in 2010.

Daniel J. Vitale is the partner in charge of WithumSmith+Brown’s Toms River, NJ office and also oversees WS+B’s Health Care Services Group. He is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of New Jersey and has more than 30 years of professional experience in business consulting, mergers and acquisitions and general tax matters. In addition to specializing in health care, his clients include wholesalers, distributors, retail establishments and manufacturers. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BS degree in accounting, Mr. Vitale joined WS+B in 1976. He is responsible for successfully expanding the firm into the Ocean County area by establishing and developing WS+B’s Toms River office in 1983. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). Mr. Vitale is actively involved in many community and professional organizations, serving on the board of various New Jersey organizations. He is also a familiar guest voice on local radio programs, speaking on tax planning and financial topics. Mr. Vitale resides in Ocean County, NJ and became a CMI Advisor in 2010.
