CMI University
What is CMI-U?
CMI-U is a graduate training program in Configuration Management®, Requirements Management and Software Manufacture.
Why advanced training in Configuration Management?
CMI faced a common IT challenge -- a scarcity of qualified and trained personnel for its Software Development Environment Support consulting practice. Faced with the "build or buy" decision, CMI chose to "build" by establishing its own training program to meet the internal need for training as well as training for its clients.
CMI had teamed for many years with the Bell System and conducted training in proprietary tools. In 1998, CMI forged an education partnership with Rational Software.
CMI recruited, trained, and deployed its first class of consultants in 1998. The success of the class has led CMI to expand the program several-fold in 1999.
CMI offers its recent graduates as Configuration Management consultants, paired with senior CM Generalists to meet our clients' Software Development Environment support needs.
This curriculum is also available on a private basis for your team.
